“This is first officer Mozah Al Maktoum speaking…”

Be sure to listen carefully to the announcements on your next Emirates flight – you might just hear the voice of the first female pilot from Dubai’s royal family.

A video posted to Instagram shows Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum addressing passengers on an Emirates flight to Italy.

In the clip, which was posted to Instagram by Shaikha Shamsa Bin Hasher Al Maktoum, the high-flying royal can be seen in the cockpit, making her announcement in both Arabic and English.

“Good morning ladies and gentleman, this is first officer Mozah Al Maktoum speaking,” she says.

“We are currently cruising at an altitude of 35,000 feet and will be descending into Milan airport shortly.”

Sheikha Mozah earned her wings in April 2016, after completing the APP First Officer programme at the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.

She completed her first commercial flight with passengers onboard in March last year.
