June 3: Get your dancing shoes on for a bingo rave Bongo’s Bingo
British bingo extravaganza Bongos Bingo returns to Atlantis, The Palm on Friday June 3 for a wild night of bingo, prizes, singing and dancing. There will even be a special headline performance by S Club Party – now made up of original members Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh as well as former S Club Juniors’ member Stacey McClean. Fans of the band can look forward to a string of 00s nostalgic hits, such as Reach, Bring It All Back and Don’t Stop Movin’.

You’ll have a new spot for tan-topping from next month as Playa Beach Club prepares to open its doors. Housed within The Club at West Beach alongside luxurious new beach club SĀN Beach and the ever-so-pretty Eva Beach House, Playa is a vibrant beach club with a boho edge. Playa is self-described as a ‘celebration of the renewal of life’, and will feature an indoor restaurant as well as several alfresco areas that spill down to the white sandy beach. Offering something for everyone Playa’s roster of events will include a weekend brunch, signature business lunch and chilled sunset rituals that promise extravagant ceremonies as day turns to night.

June 7 and 8: Tuck into a two-night only tasting menu
Tala Bashmi, who was recently named MENA’s best female chef, joins Tresind Studio’s Chef Himanshu for a two-night only special collaboration on Tuesday June 7 and Wednesday June 8. There’s two seatings each evening at 6pm and 9pm, and dinner costs Dhs695.

June 11: Tackle the coolest fun run in town
Take on one of the ‘coolest’ fun runs in town – The DXB Snow Run sees participants race around three loops (3km) or five loops (5km) inside the frosty confines of Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates. Throughout June: Listen to the soulful sounds of Jeremy Isaac
American music talent Jeremy Isaac has taken up residency at Palazzo Versace’s impressive Q’s Bar and Lounge, until July 31. Jeremy’s music talent blurs the lines between neo-soul, Latin percussion grooves, and modern R&B, and his performances every Wednesday to Sunday are laced between DJ sets each evening. June 16: Rock out at a Pink Floyd tribute night
Celebrating over 50 years of Pink Floyd, this tribute show lands at Dubai Opera this June. Recreating the sounds of the legendary band, the highly acclaimed show features over two and a half hours of songs from all the bigalbums, including The Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall.

Restaurateur and all-round bonzer Aussie bloke Tom Arnel (of Tom & Serg fame) has taken over the space of Bidi Bondi, and is replacing it with a new Aussie-inspired multi-concept called The Byron Bathers Club which opens at the end of May. The Byron – as it aims to be affectionately known – will be a seafood focused beachside dining destination offering a la carte breakfasts, lunches and late-night dinners. Taking inspiration from Australia’s celebrity hotspot, Byron Bay, the new concept hopes to become a Palm local offering a range of diverse concepts, including Byron’s Bar & Bistro, Ulu’s Oyster bar and Tigerlily’s Beach.

June 17: Hear a British boxing star in conversation
Boxing fans will have the chance to see Amir Khan up close and personal when he takes the stage for a one-night only, interactive Q&A talk at Movenpick Hotel, JBR on Friday June 17. The youngest ever British World Champion Boxer, who now resides in Dubai, has had an illustrious career. The former unified light-welterweight world champion held the Commonwealth lightweight title for two years, the WBA title for four years, the WBC Silver welterweight title for three years and the IBF title once. June 24: Catch a screening of Henry V live from London
