The duo of laugh-out-loud comedy gigs will take place this October…

Dubai Opera has already announced a roster of shows including pop stars, ballet performances and theatre hits. And now we can also look forward to a pair of hilarious comedy gigs, as Dame Joanna Lumley and Paul Chowdhry are set to headline Dubai Opera this October.

Both the gigs will take place on Sunday October 6, bringing two laugh-out-loud comedy gigs to Dubai Opera on the same night. Tickets for both shows start from Dhs195 and are available now via dubaiopera.com.

First up will be Joanna Lumley, bringing her new show, Me & My Travels, to Dubai. The British actress, activist and comedy star will talk audiences through her glittering four decade showbiz career, reciting hilarious and intriguing adventures and experiences that have shaped her life both on- and off-screen. From her breakout role as Purdey in The New Avengers in 1976, she’ll take fans through her near 50 year career as a model, muse, and actress on the big and small screen, and of course recounting tales from her time playing Patsy Stone in the BAFTA Award-winning Absolutely Fabulous.

Later on that evening, stand-up comedian Paul Chowdhry will make his welcome return to Dubai for the first time in four years.. The outrageously funny British Indian comedian, actor and writer has received a multitude of awards and accolades for his sensational style of comedy, which has seen him become known as one of the funniest men in stand-up.

His Live Innit 2019 tour became a global sensation in August 2019, bringing the lols to living rooms across over 200 countries. His UK tour, Family-Friendly Comedian, ran from 2021 to 2023, garnering widespread praise, rave reviews, and three extensions due to popular demand. He’s previously sold out the 10,000-seater Wembley Arena, as well as Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena. The famous funnyman is just as lol-inducing online, where his comedy clips regularly garner millions of views. And he’s set to have audiences in stitches when he brings his signature x comedy to Dubai this October.
